Right now, 9,000 to 10,000 children are in Washington state's foster care system. On average, a child in foster care waits more than five years to be adopted.

Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a national program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, was established to encourage adoption of children who are 9 years or older and/or who have special needs from the foster care system.

Trained adoption recruiters provide you with:

  • Education on the process of adopting from foster care

  • Referral to home study agencies

  • Support through the placement process
