Children’s Home Society of Washington knows the importance of working alongside communities to truly make an impact in the lives of children and their families.

I’m grateful to receive the fifth annual Hugh McMillan Award from the Peninsula School District that honors my years as the community manager at Children’s Home Society of Washington’s Key Peninsula Family Resource Center and as president of the Peninsula School Education Foundation.

For me, the award highlights Children’s Home Society of Washington’s efforts to be an active member of our communities as well recognizes the critical role of Key Peninsula Family Resource Center and our staff, volunteers and supporters in helping our children and families succeed.

I am also deeply honored to receive an award named after Hugh McMillan who has been a leader in our community for more than three decades. He has served on the Peninsula School Education Foundation Board since its inception and has served as a community volunteer and board member for various organizations on Key Peninsula for a number of years.
