Horizon Credit Union promotes giving for holidays

Every holiday season, Horizon Credit Union is already thinking about summer.

At all locations in Spokane, Horizon Credit Union sells paper stockings for $1 to customers during the months of November and December in honor of Children’s Home Society of Washington’s Red Stocking campaign. Their support has been truly remarkable for the children we serve as proceeds directly benefit our Therapeutic Summer Camp.

Since 2013, Horizon Credit Union has given $16,900 to support the free therapy camp that is offered at the Galland-Ashlock Resource Center in partnership with the YMCA of the Inland Northwest in the Spokane Valley.

In the program, children boost their social and communications skills by learning how to interact with peers and handle difficult situations. At the same time, they get to take advantage of the Y’s facilities.

Over the years, I have gotten to know the employees at Horizon Credit Union. I believe they are truly invested in our community and really want to make a difference in the lives of children who need some additional support.

We thank them again this year as they continue to sell our paper stockings at their credit union branches during the holiday season. I encourage you to come visit their branches in person and show your support of our work at Children’s Home Society of Washington.
